Covering March and nearby

Requests for automatic door repairs in March are handled by us and passed to a specialist engineer working under our management. Coverage includes the PE15 postcode district: town-centre premises, business and retail sites, public buildings and residential streets alike.

Small offices, community centres and village halls around March tend to have one main entrance, often used by visitors who need level access without steps. Automating the existing door, rather than replacing it, is frequently the most practical and affordable route.

Nearby towns we also list for automatic door repairs (straight-line distance): Wisbech (8.5 miles), Ely (12.8 miles), Peterborough (14.2 miles), King's Lynn (18.9 miles), Spalding (19.1 miles), Huntingdon (19.2 miles).

What to think about for automatic door repairs in March

  • For surgeries, clinics and care settings in March, a door that will not open can stop wheelchair users getting in. Plan an alternative accessible entrance and clear signs while the repair is arranged.
  • Shopping parades and business parks in March can have restricted parking or loading. Tell us where an engineer can park and unload tools when you book the visit.
  • Opening hours matter when booking a repair in March. If your premises close early or open late, mention it so the engineer can work while the entrance is quiet.
  • Glass damage needs prompt action to keep people safe. Switch the door off, keep people back from the broken leaf and tape or board the glass if that can be done safely.
  • Doors knocked by trolleys, pushchairs or deliveries often go out of line. Repeated impacts damage rollers and floor guides, so it helps to know roughly when the fault first appeared.

Standards and rules in England

Workplace law (the Workplace (Health, Safety and Welfare) Regulations 1992) expects powered doors to have suitable and effective features to stop them trapping anyone and, where needed for safety, to open by hand unless they open automatically if the power fails. Doors at work must also be kept in efficient working order under a suitable system of maintenance. HSE guidance on those regulations says the frequency of maintenance depends on the equipment and the manufacturer’s information.

No law sets a fixed service interval. We recommend that a trained engineer checks the safety functions at least once a year, with service intervals set by the manufacturer’s instructions and how heavily the door is used, and that someone on site carries out simple regular checks and keeps a record.

How it works

  1. Tell us what is happening. Describe the fault, or the service or inspection that is due, and send photos of the door and any label on the operator. Include the address in March and how much the site depends on the door.
  2. Visit price agreed in writing. We confirm the price of the visit in writing before an engineer attends. If the door can be priced from photos and its make and model, we say so at this stage.
  3. Engineer visit. A specialist engineer working under our management diagnoses the fault or carries out the service, then tests the operation of the door and its safety sensors before leaving the site.
  4. Findings and follow-up. You receive a written record of what was found and done. Any parts or further work needed are quoted in writing before they go ahead, and nothing is added without your agreement.

Automatic door repairs in March: questions

Is it safe to keep using a faulty automatic door in March?

It depends on the fault. A slow or noisy door may be safe to use until the visit, but a door that strikes people, closes unexpectedly or has damaged glass should be switched off and kept clear. If you are unsure, switch it off and use another entrance until an engineer has checked it.

What is the guide price for automatic door repairs in March?

Our guide starts from £95 excluding VAT (visit including the first hour), the same guide price we use across the UK. For homes that is from £114 including VAT. We agree the visit price in writing before an engineer attends in March, and quote any parts or further work before doing them. The price guide lists typical repair and service costs.

Do engineers carry spare parts for doors in March?

Engineers carry common parts such as sensors, belts and some rollers. Controllers, motors and parts for less common doors are ordered once the fault is confirmed, and delivery is typically 1 to 3 weeks. Knowing the make and model in advance improves the chance of a repair during the first visit.

Do you repair automatic doors in March?

Yes. We take the booking, agree the price and manage the job, and the visit in March is made by a specialist automatic door engineer working under our management. The engineers we send work on sliding, swing, folding and revolving doors from most makers, including doors we did not install. The visit price is confirmed with you in writing before the engineer is booked.

Do you offer service contracts in March?

Yes. A service contract sets out how many visits a year each door receives, what each visit includes and the price, all agreed in writing before you sign. Contracts suit sites with several doors or busy entrances, because visits are planned ahead and the records stay in one place. Contract length and notice terms are shown in the agreement.

Can you take over servicing of doors in March from another company?

Yes. Send us the door details and, if you have them, previous service records or inspection reports. The first visit gives a baseline for each door, and its price is agreed in writing beforehand. From then on, records continue in one consistent format, whichever company looked after the doors before.

Who is responsible for automatic doors on escape routes in March?

Under the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 the responsible person for the premises must make sure escape routes work and fire safety equipment is maintained. Automatic doors on an escape route need fail-safe opening or break-out, set by the fire strategy.
