These are guide ranges for typical jobs, based on 2025 to 2026 UK market prices for supply and installation. The low end of each range is a straightforward job in standard finishes; the high end covers larger openings, higher specification and more involved fitting. Unusual sizes, structural work and special finishes are priced on survey.

Your council (or, in Northern Ireland, the Housing Executive) can sometimes help with the cost through a grant, but it must be approved before work starts.

What moves the price
Size and leaves. Wider openings need longer operators, larger glass and sometimes more leaves. Telescopic and curved doors cost more than standard sliding doors of the same width.
Specification. Frame finish, glass type, thermal performance, break-out function and the number and type of sensors all change the price.
The building. Fixing into a weak lintel, moving power, cutting floors for guides or thresholds, and working in occupied buildings or out of hours add cost.
What stays. Automating a sound existing door costs far less than replacing it. A drive unit replacement keeps the frame and leaves.
VAT
Commercial prices are shown excluding VAT at 20%. Prices for home door openers are shown including VAT at 20%. Some equipment and work for disabled people can be zero-rated for VAT where the conditions are met; we will tell you on the quote if we think relief may apply and what you would need to sign. HM Revenue and Customs decides the rules, not us.
Questions about prices
Why do automatic door prices vary so much?
Because the door is only part of the job. The opening size, the structure it fixes to, the floor, the power supply, the safety devices and whether it is on an escape route all change the work. That is why new doors start with a free survey and a fixed written quote.
Are your prices fixed?
Guide prices are not fixed; the written quote after the survey is. If something can only be confirmed once work starts, the quote says what it is and how any change would be priced.
Do you charge for repair visits?
Yes. Repairs, servicing and safety inspections are paid visits. We agree the visit price in writing before the engineer attends, and quote any parts or further work before doing them.
Is there a minimum charge?
For repairs and servicing the visit price works as the minimum for that visit. For installation work there is no separate minimum charge; the quote is the price.
