Coverage across Worcestershire

We treat Worcestershire as one service area for hermetic sliding doors, so a site on the edge of the area gets the same written pricing and the same standard of work as one in the busiest town centre. Specialist automatic door engineers working under our management carry out each visit. Choose from the 8 towns below, or contact us with any address.

What to think about for hermetic sliding doors in Worcestershire

  • Imaging rooms in Worcestershire need the lead equivalence confirmed by a radiation protection adviser. The lead lining adds weight, which affects the choice of operator and frame.
  • Labs and cleanrooms in Worcestershire often have modular wall panels. Frame details must match the panel system, so involve the cleanroom contractor before the door is ordered.
  • Choose finishes that stand up to the cleaning regime at your site in Worcestershire. Stainless steel and high-pressure laminate cope with strong disinfectants, but check the chemicals your cleaning team uses first.
  • Theatre doors in Worcestershire can usually only be replaced during a planned shutdown. Agree the dates with the theatre team early, as the door is made to order and the room needs cleaning and validation after installation.
  • Infection control rules in hospitals across Worcestershire usually require screening, dust control and permits for work in clinical areas. Share your procedures at survey so they are built into the programme.

Standards and rules in England

BS EN 16005 is the current standard for the safety in use of powered pedestrian doors, and BS 7036-0:2014 is the British code of practice for risk assessment and risk reduction used alongside it. Standards are not law in themselves, but they are the recognised benchmark for showing an automatic door is safe to use, and we set up, test and document doors with reference to them.

In Great Britain a new or converted powered door must meet the Supply of Machinery (Safety) Regulations 2008 before it is first used, and can carry the UKCA or the CE marking. Workplace law (the Workplace (Health, Safety and Welfare) Regulations 1992) expects powered doors to have suitable and effective features to stop them trapping anyone and, where needed for safety, to open by hand unless they open automatically if the power fails. Doors at work must also be kept in efficient working order under a suitable system of maintenance.

Glass in and beside doors must be safety glass or protected where people could walk into it, and clear glass needs markings in two bands, 850 mm to 1000 mm and 1400 mm to 1600 mm above the floor (Approved Document K).

How it works

  1. Start with a short enquiry. Use the form, phone or email. Tell us whether the work is a new door, an upgrade or an opener for a home, and we arrange the next step for your site in Worcestershire.
  2. Measured survey. The free survey confirms what will fit and what the entrance needs: opening width, door type, activation, safety sensors and behaviour on power loss or fire alarm, matched to how the building is used.
  3. Written price, no surprises. A fixed, itemised quote sets out the specification, the work involved, the expected lead time and the warranty terms. You can ask questions or change the specification before accepting it.
  4. Installed and commissioned. The door is installed with as little disruption as possible, then set up and tested for its hazard zones. Before leaving, the engineer explains the controls and hands over the documents for your records.

Use the guide price tool for an early figure, then let us survey your rooms in Worcestershire and fix the price in writing.

Hermetic sliding doors in Worcestershire: questions

Will the hermetic door in Worcestershire link to our building management system?

It can. The operator can send door status to the building management system and receive signals from it, as well as from the fire alarm and access control. The interface is agreed with your controls contractor and shown in the quote, so responsibilities are clear.

What do you charge for hermetic sliding doors in Worcestershire?

Our guide starts from £8,995 excluding VAT (per door), the same guide price we use across the UK. The free site survey in Worcestershire confirms the price as a fixed, itemised written quote, and the guide price tool gives you a range before anyone visits.

Can you supply lead-lined hermetic doors in Worcestershire?

Yes. Lead-lined leaves and frames are made to the lead equivalence your radiation protection adviser specifies, with the same seals, finishes and touch-free activation as other hermetic doors. The extra weight is allowed for in the operator and the fixings.

Can you work within our infection control procedures in Worcestershire?

Yes. Work in clinical and cleanroom areas is planned around your permits, screening and dust control requirements, and around room shutdowns. Share your procedures at the survey and we will build them into the method statement and the programme for the installation.

Can installation in Worcestershire happen outside opening hours?

Yes. Many shops, surgeries and offices prefer work early in the morning, in the evening or at weekends, when the entrance is quietest. Tell us your constraints when you enquire and they are built into the plan. Any extra cost for out-of-hours work is shown in the written quote rather than added afterwards.

What power supply is needed for hermetic sliding doors in Worcestershire?

Most powered doors need a fused spur close to the operator, and some activation and access control devices also need a low-voltage link. The survey checks what is already there. If a new supply is required, the quote says whether we arrange it or your own electrician does, so nothing is left unclear on the day.

Which building regulations apply to a new automatic entrance in Worcestershire?

In England the guidance is Approved Document M (Volume 2) for access, Approved Document B for fire safety and escape routes, and Approved Document K for glazing and powered doors. A new entrance can count as building work, so building control should be involved before it is ordered.
