Coverage across Lincolnshire
Not every part of Lincolnshire is easy to reach, and some sites need planning around access, parking or opening hours. We take that into account when arranging automatic door servicing, and the engineer, working under our management, arrives with what the job is likely to need. The towns below, 12 in all, each have their own page, but any address in the area can be covered.
Towns listed in Lincolnshire: Lincoln, Grimsby, Scunthorpe, Boston, Grantham, Cleethorpes, Spalding, Skegness, Stamford, Gainsborough, Louth, Sleaford.
What to think about for automatic door servicing in Lincolnshire
- Keep the programme switch key and any operator access keys on site. Engineers need them to change modes and test the door properly during the visit.
- A logbook kept near the door, or a shared digital folder, makes it simple to show service history in Lincolnshire when an insurer, landlord or inspector asks for it.
- Older doors in Lincolnshire may need parts replaced more often as they age. A service history that tracks wear helps you budget for repairs or a new drive unit before a breakdown.
- Doors on escape routes need their break-out or power-failure opening tested at every service. Tell us which doors serve escape routes so the engineer checks the right functions.
- Doors on busy high streets in Lincolnshire can cycle hundreds of times a day. Heavy use wears belts, rollers and floor guides faster, so these doors usually need more frequent visits.
Automatic door servicing in Lincolnshire: guide prices
The visit price is agreed in writing before an engineer attends; parts and any further work are quoted before they are done. Guide price: from £145 ex VAT (£174 inc VAT).
| Item | Guide price | Notes |

| Single service visit, first door on site | £145 – £245 | checks, adjustment and service record, ex VAT; homes £174 – £294 inc VAT |
| Each additional door on the same visit | £60 – £120 | ex VAT; homes £72 – £144 inc VAT |
| Service contract, one visit a year | £145 – £245 | first door, per year, visit booked in advance at a fixed price, ex VAT; homes £174 – £294 inc VAT |
| Service contract, two visits a year | £270 – £460 | first door, per year, ex VAT; additional doors at the per-visit rate above; homes £324 – £552 inc VAT |
No law sets a fixed service interval. We recommend a safety check by a trained engineer at least once a year, and more frequent visits for busy doors. Repairs found during a service are quoted before they are done.
Standards and rules in England
Workplace law (the Workplace (Health, Safety and Welfare) Regulations 1992) expects powered doors to have suitable and effective features to stop them trapping anyone and, where needed for safety, to open by hand unless they open automatically if the power fails. Doors at work must also be kept in efficient working order under a suitable system of maintenance. HSE guidance on those regulations says the frequency of maintenance depends on the equipment and the manufacturer’s information.
No law sets a fixed service interval. We recommend that a trained engineer checks the safety functions at least once a year, with service intervals set by the manufacturer’s instructions and how heavily the door is used, and that someone on site carries out simple regular checks and keeps a record.
BS EN 16005 is the current standard for the safety in use of powered pedestrian doors, and BS 7036-0:2014 is the British code of practice for risk assessment and risk reduction used alongside it. Standards are not law in themselves, but they are the recognised benchmark for showing an automatic door is safe to use, and we set up, test and document doors with reference to them. Standards are not retrospective, so an older door does not become unlawful when a standard is updated; a site-specific risk assessment shows whether any upgrades are sensible.
How it works
- Make contact. Phone, email or use the form. Tell us the type of door, what it is doing and whether it is safe to use, so the right visit for automatic door servicing can be planned.
- Written visit price. The cost of attending is agreed in writing before the visit is booked. For a planned service or inspection, the price per door and what each visit includes are set out at the same time.
- On-site work. The engineer, working under our management, checks the door from end to end, deals with the fault or the service, and tests every safety function and sensor setting before signing the door off.
- Report and quote. You receive a report of the findings. Where a repair, part or upgrade is recommended, it is quoted in writing so you can decide, and the door is left in a safe state if it cannot be used.

Automatic door servicing in Lincolnshire: questions
Can one contract cover all our buildings in Lincolnshire and nearby?
Yes. A contract can list every door across your sites, with the visits per year and the price for each door. One schedule and one set of service reports make it easier to keep records complete, and repair visits between services are charged at the contract rates.
What will automatic door servicing in Lincolnshire cost?
Our guide starts from £145 excluding VAT (per visit, first door), the same guide price we use across the UK. For homes that is from £174 including VAT. We agree the visit price in writing before an engineer attends in Lincolnshire, and quote any parts or further work before doing them. The price guide lists typical repair and service costs.
How often should doors in Lincolnshire be serviced?
There is no fixed legal interval. We recommend a trained engineer checks the safety functions at least once a year, with the interval set by the manufacturer's instructions and how heavily the door is used. Busy entrances, such as shops and surgeries, are often serviced every six months.
Will servicing help with our insurer or landlord in Lincolnshire?
Many insurers and landlords ask for evidence that automatic doors are maintained. A written service report for each door, kept in a logbook or digital folder, is the usual way to show that. If they ask for a risk assessment against BS EN 16005, a safety inspection can be added.
How soon can an engineer get to Lincolnshire?
We do not promise response times. When you book, we give you the earliest date we can offer and confirm it once the price is agreed. If the door is unsafe in the meantime, it is usually best to switch it off or set it to a safe mode, put up a sign and keep people clear of it.
Can you price a repair in Lincolnshire from photos?
Sometimes. Clear photos of the door, the operator cover and any label showing the make and model, plus a description of what the door is doing, can let us price a likely repair before a visit. Where the cause is not obvious, we agree a diagnostic visit price in writing first and quote the repair afterwards.
Can a home in Lincolnshire get help paying for a door opener?
Possibly. In England a Disabled Facilities Grant of up to £30,000 can fund adaptations that make it easier to get in and out of a home. It is means-tested and must be approved by the council before work starts, so ask your council and occupational therapist.
