Touch-free and push-button activation in County Tyrone

The way a door is opened makes as much difference as the door itself. We fit wave switches, push pads, radio buttons, key switches and motion sensors to automatic doors in County Tyrone, chosen around the people who use each door.

Coverage across County Tyrone

Not every part of County Tyrone is easy to reach, and some sites need planning around access, parking or opening hours. We take that into account when arranging touch-free and push-button activation, and the engineer, working under our management, arrives with what the job is likely to need. The towns below, 4 in all, each have their own page, but any address in the area can be covered.

What to think about for touch-free and push-button activation in County Tyrone

  • Listed buildings in County Tyrone may restrict new fixings on historic walls. Wireless switches mounted on posts or glazing can avoid cutting into original fabric, and are easy to move later.
  • Shops on high streets in County Tyrone may want the door to open for customers but not for people walking past outside. Narrowing the sensor field or adding a switch helps.
  • Washrooms and accessible toilets in County Tyrone need the inside switch paired with a lock button and an emergency release, so the room can be used privately and safely.
  • Clinics and surgeries in County Tyrone often want touch-free switches on every door patients use. Sealed switch faces that stand up to cleaning products are worth specifying.
  • Look at where people approach the door from. A switch that can only be reached once someone is already at the door, or in the leaf's path, is in the wrong place.

Standards and rules in Northern Ireland

In Northern Ireland, disability access duties come from the Disability Discrimination Act 1995, because the Equality Act 2010 does not apply there. Service providers and employers are expected to make reasonable adjustments, and an automatic door is a common one at entrances. Fitting an automatic door helps, but does not on its own guarantee those duties are met.

The Building Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2012 require a powered door to have a means to prevent it trapping anyone and a means to open it if the power fails. Guidance on access to buildings is in Technical Booklet R, and building control approval is needed for new entrances.

Whoever motorises a manual door, or builds an automatic door from separate parts, may take on the manufacturer’s legal duties for the finished door: a risk assessment, a technical file kept available for the authorities, a Declaration of Conformity, the conformity marking and instructions. You receive the Declaration of Conformity and the instructions at handover. In Northern Ireland machinery, including a new or converted powered door, carries the CE marking (with UKNI added where a UK body carried out the conformity assessment), and the EU Machinery Regulation applies there from 20 January 2027.

How it works

  1. Send photos and the address. A few pictures of the door from both sides, the address in County Tyrone and a note of who uses the entrance help us understand the job before anyone visits the site.
  2. No-cost survey on site. We arrange a survey at a time that suits the building. The engineer records measurements, fixings and power, plus any constraints such as listed status, opening hours or access for deliveries.
  3. Itemised quote to approve. We price every element of the work on touch-free and push-button activation separately in a written quote that you can check, share and approve. Lead time and payment stages are stated, and nothing is ordered until you accept.
  4. Fit, test and hand over. On the agreed dates the engineer installs the equipment, commissions the operator and tests each safety function. You get a demonstration, the test record and any conformity paperwork that applies to the work.

Ask for a fixed price on touch-free switches, push pads or fobs in County Tyrone. The survey is free and nothing is fitted until you accept the quote.

Touch-free and push-button activation in County Tyrone: questions

Can you supply switches for several sites in County Tyrone?

Yes. We can survey several doors or buildings and quote each one separately, keeping switch types, heights and symbols the same across all your sites. That makes doors easier to find and use for visitors and staff. Larger orders can be phased site by site.

What do you charge for touch-free and push-button activation in County Tyrone?

Our guide starts from £145 excluding VAT (per switch fitted), the same guide price we use across the UK. For homes that is from £174 including VAT. The free site survey in County Tyrone confirms the price as a fixed, itemised written quote, and the guide price tool gives you a range before anyone visits.

Do you fit door controls for homes in County Tyrone?

Yes. We fit wall buttons, fobs, wristbands and wheelchair-mounted switches for home door openers in County Tyrone. For homes, prices are quoted including VAT and the survey costs nothing. Fobs can be added or removed later if carers change or one is lost.

Can you add touch-free switches to our automatic doors in County Tyrone?

Usually, yes. Most operators have spare inputs for extra devices. We check the door, operator and wiring route at a free survey, then quote a fixed price for the switches and fitting. Wireless switches are an option where running cables would be difficult.

How are payments structured for work in County Tyrone?

Payment stages are set out in the quote before you accept it. Larger or made-to-order jobs may involve a deposit and a balance on completion, while smaller jobs may be invoiced once the work is finished. Nothing is charged for the survey itself, and the terms you accept are the terms that apply.

What do you need from us for parking and access in County Tyrone?

Somewhere for the engineer's van as close to the entrance as possible, and a clear working area around the door. If parking is restricted, loading rules apply or the site has security procedures, tell us when you book. Those details go into the plan so the visit is not held up on the day.

Which marking should a new automatic door in County Tyrone carry?

In Northern Ireland machinery carries the CE marking, with UKNI added where a UK body carried out the conformity assessment. The EU Machinery Regulation applies in Northern Ireland from 20 January 2027.
