Covering Liverpool and nearby
Homes, businesses and public buildings throughout the L1, L2, L3, L5, L6 and L7 postcode districts can arrange telescopic sliding doors with us. We are the contracting party and organise every visit; the engineer, who works under our management, travels in to Liverpool for the job rather than working from premises in town.
Access in a city centre needs planning. Loading bays, permit parking, pedestrianised streets and delivery windows all affect when an engineer can unload, so a visit to Liverpool is booked around them and any restrictions are noted in advance.
Nearby towns we also list for telescopic sliding doors (straight-line distance): Birkenhead (1.9 miles), Wallasey (3.7 miles), Litherland (4.2 miles), Bootle (4.2 miles), Bebington (4.5 miles), Crosby (5.2 miles).
What to think about for telescopic sliding doors in Liverpool
- Care homes and supported living buildings in Liverpool may want the main door to open freely for visitors but stay locked for some residents. A keypad or fob reader on the inside can be wired to the operator.
- Entrances used by ambulances and patient transport in Liverpool benefit from a full-opening button for crews, while everyday visitors use a narrower partial opening that keeps the waiting area warmer.
- Hospital and supermarket entrances in Liverpool that run for long hours put more wear on the extra rollers and belts of a telescopic door. Plan a servicing arrangement from the start rather than waiting for the first fault.
- Power for the operator usually comes from a fused spur at the head of the door. Where the nearest supply is some distance away, plan for an electrician to run a new circuit before the fitting day.
- Grit and leaves blown into the threshold collect in floor guide channels. Entrances facing a car park or open ground benefit from a matwell or canopy, which also keeps rain off the sensors.

Standards and rules in England
In Great Britain a new or converted powered door must meet the Supply of Machinery (Safety) Regulations 2008 before it is first used, and can carry the UKCA or the CE marking. Workplace law (the Workplace (Health, Safety and Welfare) Regulations 1992) expects powered doors to have suitable and effective features to stop them trapping anyone and, where needed for safety, to open by hand unless they open automatically if the power fails. Doors at work must also be kept in efficient working order under a suitable system of maintenance.
Building regulations guidance in England (Approved Document M, Volume 2) says a powered opening system should be used where a self-closing entrance door would need more than 30 N at the leading edge to open, or more than 22.5 N between 30° and 60°, and expects external doors used by the public in new buildings to give at least 1000 mm of effective clear width.
How it works
- Send photos and the address. A few pictures of the door from both sides, the address in Liverpool and a note of who uses the entrance help us understand the job before anyone visits the site.
- No-cost survey on site. We arrange a survey at a time that suits the building. The engineer records measurements, fixings and power, plus any constraints such as listed status, opening hours or access for deliveries.
- Itemised quote to approve. We price every element of the work on telescopic sliding doors separately in a written quote that you can check, share and approve. Lead time and payment stages are stated, and nothing is ordered until you accept.
- Fit, test and hand over. On the agreed dates the engineer installs the equipment, commissions the operator and tests each safety function. You get a demonstration, the test record and any conformity paperwork that applies to the work.

Telescopic sliding doors in Liverpool: questions
What paperwork do we get after installation in Liverpool?
You receive the commissioning and test record, a site-specific risk assessment, user instructions and the conformity paperwork for the door. Keep them with your building records. They are the starting point for later servicing and safety inspections, and they show how the door was set up with reference to BS EN 16005.
Is there a guide price for telescopic sliding doors in Liverpool?
Our guide starts from £6,995 excluding VAT (per door set), the same guide price we use across the UK. The free site survey in Liverpool confirms the price as a fixed, itemised written quote, and the guide price tool gives you a range before anyone visits.
How much wider will our entrance in Liverpool be with telescopic doors?
As a rough guide, a telescopic door gives about two-thirds of its overall width as clear opening, against about half for a standard sliding door. On a typical shop or surgery entrance that can mean an extra 300 to 600 mm. The survey drawing for your building in Liverpool shows the exact clear width before you commit.
Is the telescopic door survey in Liverpool really free?
Yes, for a new telescopic entrance the site survey costs nothing and carries no obligation. The engineer measures the opening, checks the structure, floor and power, and talks through layouts. You then receive a measured drawing and a fixed, itemised written quote, and you decide whether to go ahead.
What happens to the old door when a new one is fitted in Liverpool?
If the work replaces an existing door, frame or operator, removal and disposal are listed in the quote. The old door comes out only when the new one is ready to go in, so the opening is not left empty for longer than necessary. Making good to the surrounding wall, floor or ceiling is included where the quote says so.
What does the free site survey in Liverpool involve?
An engineer working under our management visits the building, measures the opening, checks the frame, floor, head height and power supply, and looks at how people use the entrance. The survey is free and carries no obligation. Afterwards you receive a fixed, itemised written quote for telescopic sliding doors, with drawings where the door type needs them.
Which building regulations apply to a new automatic entrance in Liverpool?
In England the guidance is Approved Document M (Volume 2) for access, Approved Document B for fire safety and escape routes, and Approved Document K for glazing and powered doors. A new entrance can count as building work, so building control should be involved before it is ordered.
