What to think about for hermetic sliding doors in Stirling, Falkirk and Clackmannanshire
- Labs and cleanrooms in Stirling, Falkirk and Clackmannanshire often have modular wall panels. Frame details must match the panel system, so involve the cleanroom contractor before the door is ordered.
- The floor must be flat and continuous through the opening. Welded vinyl or resin floors should be completed or repaired before the door is fitted, so the bottom seal meets a true surface.
- Interlocked doors need clear logic. Decide with your engineers which door has priority, how staff override the interlock in an emergency and what the status lights should show.
- Infection control rules in hospitals across Stirling, Falkirk and Clackmannanshire usually require screening, dust control and permits for work in clinical areas. Share your procedures at survey so they are built into the programme.
- Touch-free activation should suit how staff work. Foot switches suit scrubbed theatre staff, wave sensors suit corridors, and card readers suit restricted labs where only trained staff may enter.

Standards and rules in Scotland
BS EN 16005 is the current standard for the safety in use of powered pedestrian doors, and BS 7036-0:2014 is the British code of practice for risk assessment and risk reduction used alongside it. Standards are not law in themselves, but they are the recognised benchmark for showing an automatic door is safe to use, and we set up, test and document doors with reference to them.
In Great Britain a new or converted powered door must meet the Supply of Machinery (Safety) Regulations 2008 before it is first used, and can carry the UKCA or the CE marking. Workplace law (the Workplace (Health, Safety and Welfare) Regulations 1992) expects powered doors to have suitable and effective features to stop them trapping anyone and, where needed for safety, to open by hand unless they open automatically if the power fails. Doors at work must also be kept in efficient working order under a suitable system of maintenance.
Glass in and beside doors must be safe where people could walk into it, and Scottish guidance puts markings on clear glass in two bands, 850 mm to 1.0 m and 1.4 m to 1.6 m above the floor.

How long will the room in Stirling, Falkirk and Clackmannanshire be out of use?
Installing a single hermetic door usually takes one to two days on site, plus time for your own cleaning and validation afterwards. Larger doors, lead-lined doors or interlocked pairs take longer. The door is typically 6 to 10 weeks from order, so we agree dates with you well in advance.
Is there a guide price for hermetic sliding doors in Stirling, Falkirk and Clackmannanshire?
Our guide starts from £8,995 excluding VAT (per door), the same guide price we use across the UK. The free site survey in Stirling, Falkirk and Clackmannanshire confirms the price as a fixed, itemised written quote, and the guide price tool gives you a range before anyone visits.
Can you work within our infection control procedures in Stirling, Falkirk and Clackmannanshire?
Yes. Work in clinical and cleanroom areas is planned around your permits, screening and dust control requirements, and around room shutdowns. Share your procedures at the survey and we will build them into the method statement and the programme for the installation.
Is the survey for a hermetic door in Stirling, Falkirk and Clackmannanshire free?
Yes, for a new hermetic door the survey is free and there is no obligation. We measure the opening, check the wall and floor, discuss seals, finishes, activation and interlocks with your team, then send drawings and a fixed, itemised written quote.
What does the written quote for hermetic sliding doors in Stirling, Falkirk and Clackmannanshire include?
The quote lists each item separately: the door or equipment, installation, electrical connections where we provide them, removal of anything being replaced, testing and handover. It is a fixed price for the work described, so it does not change unless the scope changes, and any change is agreed with you in writing first.
How are payments structured for work in Stirling, Falkirk and Clackmannanshire?
Payment stages are set out in the quote before you accept it. Larger or made-to-order jobs may involve a deposit and a balance on completion, while smaller jobs may be invoiced once the work is finished. Nothing is charged for the survey itself, and the terms you accept are the terms that apply.
Is a building warrant needed for a new automatic entrance in Stirling, Falkirk and Clackmannanshire?
Often, yes. Most building work in Scotland needs a building warrant before it starts, and the non-domestic Technical Handbook sets out what an accessible entrance should provide, including a clear opening of at least 800 mm. We tell you at the survey if your job is likely to need one.
