Covering Armagh and nearby
Sites across the BT60 and BT61 postcode districts are visited by specialist automatic door engineers working under our management. They travel to Armagh for automatic door servicing as bookings come in, so dates depend on the diary rather than a fixed local team, and we give you the earliest date we can offer when you book.
Older shopfronts are common in market towns, and some in Armagh may sit in a conservation area or a listed building. Changes to a frontage can need planning permission or listed building consent, so it is worth checking with the local planning authority before work is booked.
Nearby towns we also list for automatic door servicing (straight-line distance): Portadown (10.3 miles), Dungannon (11.3 miles), Craigavon (13.1 miles), Banbridge (15.4 miles), Lurgan (15.6 miles), Newry (17.8 miles).
What to think about for automatic door servicing in Armagh
- Battery backup units wear out over time. Testing them at each service shows whether the door will still open or close safely in a power cut.
- Schools and colleges in Armagh often prefer servicing during holidays or after hours. Plan visits early in the year so they fall when the buildings are quiet.
- Older doors in Armagh may need parts replaced more often as they age. A service history that tracks wear helps you budget for repairs or a new drive unit before a breakdown.
- Keep the programme switch key and any operator access keys on site. Engineers need them to change modes and test the door properly during the visit.
- Doors on escape routes need their break-out or power-failure opening tested at every service. Tell us which doors serve escape routes so the engineer checks the right functions.

Standards and rules in Northern Ireland
BS EN 16005 is the current standard for the safety in use of powered pedestrian doors, and BS 7036-0:2014 is the British code of practice for risk assessment and risk reduction used alongside it. Standards are not law in themselves, but they are the recognised benchmark for showing an automatic door is safe to use, and we set up, test and document doors with reference to them. Standards are not retrospective, so an older door does not become unlawful when a standard is updated; a site-specific risk assessment shows whether any upgrades are sensible.
No law sets a fixed service interval. We recommend that a trained engineer checks the safety functions at least once a year, with service intervals set by the manufacturer’s instructions and how heavily the door is used, and that someone on site carries out simple regular checks and keeps a record.
How it works
- Tell us what is happening. Describe the fault, or the service or inspection that is due, and send photos of the door and any label on the operator. Include the address in Armagh and how much the site depends on the door.
- Visit price agreed in writing. We confirm the price of the visit in writing before an engineer attends. If the door can be priced from photos and its make and model, we say so at this stage.
- Engineer visit. A specialist engineer working under our management diagnoses the fault or carries out the service, then tests the operation of the door and its safety sensors before leaving the site.
- Findings and follow-up. You receive a written record of what was found and done. Any parts or further work needed are quoted in writing before they go ahead, and nothing is added without your agreement.

Automatic door servicing in Armagh: questions
Can one contract cover all our buildings in Armagh and nearby?
Yes. A contract can list every door across your sites, with the visits per year and the price for each door. One schedule and one set of service reports make it easier to keep records complete, and repair visits between services are charged at the contract rates.
Is there a guide price for automatic door servicing in Armagh?
Our guide starts from £145 excluding VAT (per visit, first door), the same guide price we use across the UK. For homes that is from £174 including VAT. We agree the visit price in writing before an engineer attends in Armagh, and quote any parts or further work before doing them. The price guide lists typical repair and service costs.
Do you service revolving and folding doors in Armagh?
Yes, as well as sliding and swing doors. Revolving and folding doors have more moving parts and extra safety devices, so their services take longer and are priced accordingly. The checklist used for each door type is set out in its service report.
Will servicing help with our insurer or landlord in Armagh?
Many insurers and landlords ask for evidence that automatic doors are maintained. A written service report for each door, kept in a logbook or digital folder, is the usual way to show that. If they ask for a risk assessment against BS EN 16005, a safety inspection can be added.
What happens during a visit in Armagh?
The engineer checks how the door is operating, diagnoses the fault or carries out the service, and tests the safety sensors and other functions before leaving. On a service visit that includes cleaning, adjustment and lubrication where needed. Anything that cannot be put right on the visit, or that needs parts, is explained and quoted before further work goes ahead.
Can you price a repair in Armagh from photos?
Sometimes. Clear photos of the door, the operator cover and any label showing the make and model, plus a description of what the door is doing, can let us price a likely repair before a visit. Where the cause is not obvious, we agree a diagnostic visit price in writing first and quote the repair afterwards.
Which marking should a new automatic door in Armagh carry?
In Northern Ireland machinery carries the CE marking, with UKNI added where a UK body carried out the conformity assessment. The EU Machinery Regulation applies in Northern Ireland from 20 January 2027.
