Coverage across Surrey
There is no branch to visit in Surrey; instead, specialist engineers working under our management travel to you. That keeps automatic internal doors available across the whole area, including smaller towns and rural addresses. The page for each of the 21 towns we list below sets out nearby places, guide prices and the questions people usually ask.

What to think about for automatic internal doors in Surrey
- Lightweight stud partitions may not carry an operator without extra support. The survey checks what the wall is made of and what reinforcement is needed.
- Care homes in Surrey often have residents with dementia. Think about which doors should open freely and which should be controlled, and agree that as a care decision before choosing controls.
- Noise matters on wards and in bedrooms. Ask for night settings or quieter operators on doors near where people sleep, and check how loud any electric locks are when they release.
- Hospitals in Surrey usually have estates teams with their own standards for door widths, controls and fire alarm interfaces. Share those early so the quote matches them.
- Measure what passes through the door, not just the door. Beds, hoists, trolleys and catering equipment can need a wider opening than the current door gives.

Standards and rules in England
Under the Equality Act 2010, service providers and employers must make reasonable adjustments for disabled people, which can include altering a physical feature such as a heavy entrance door. Fitting an automatic door helps, but does not on its own guarantee those duties are met.
Building regulations guidance in England (Approved Document M, Volume 2) says a powered opening system should be used where a self-closing entrance door would need more than 30 N at the leading edge to open, or more than 22.5 N between 30° and 60°, and expects external doors used by the public in new buildings to give at least 1000 mm of effective clear width.
Whoever motorises a manual door, or builds an automatic door from separate parts, may take on the manufacturer’s legal duties for the finished door: a risk assessment, a technical file kept available for the authorities, a Declaration of Conformity, the conformity marking and instructions. You receive the Declaration of Conformity and the instructions at handover. In Great Britain a new or converted powered door must meet the Supply of Machinery (Safety) Regulations 2008 before it is first used, and can carry the UKCA or the CE marking.
How it works
- Send photos and the address. A few pictures of the door from both sides, the address in Surrey and a note of who uses the entrance help us understand the job before anyone visits the site.
- No-cost survey on site. We arrange a survey at a time that suits the building. The engineer records measurements, fixings and power, plus any constraints such as listed status, opening hours or access for deliveries.
- Itemised quote to approve. We price every element of the work on automatic internal doors separately in a written quote that you can check, share and approve. Lead time and payment stages are stated, and nothing is ordered until you accept.
- Fit, test and hand over. On the agreed dates the engineer installs the equipment, commissions the operator and tests each safety function. You get a demonstration, the test record and any conformity paperwork that applies to the work.
Tell us which corridor, ward or office doors are causing problems in Surrey, and we will arrange a site visit and a written quote.
Automatic internal doors in Surrey: questions
Can internal doors at our offices in Surrey be linked to access control?
Yes. Card readers, fob readers or keypads can control who passes into staff areas, and the door opens automatically once access is granted. Locks release on the fire alarm where the fire strategy requires, and we can connect to an existing access control system or supply a standalone one.
What will automatic internal doors in Surrey cost?
Our guide starts from £1,795 excluding VAT (per door), the same guide price we use across the UK. The free site survey in Surrey confirms the price as a fixed, itemised written quote, and the guide price tool gives you a range before anyone visits.
Can you service the internal doors in Surrey after fitting?
Yes. We can arrange planned servicing with each door's operator, sensors and fire alarm release checked and a written record left. Servicing is chargeable, and the price per visit is agreed in writing before an engineer attends. Visits can be grouped so several doors are done together.
Do you supply internal sliding doors as well as swing operators in Surrey?
Yes. Where there is wall space beside the opening, a sliding door keeps the corridor clear and gives a wide opening, which suits wards. Where there is not, or the door is a fire door, a swing operator is usually the better fit. The survey compares both.
How are payments structured for work in Surrey?
Payment stages are set out in the quote before you accept it. Larger or made-to-order jobs may involve a deposit and a balance on completion, while smaller jobs may be invoiced once the work is finished. Nothing is charged for the survey itself, and the terms you accept are the terms that apply.
Do I need permission from a landlord or the council before work in Surrey?
It depends on the building. Tenants usually need the landlord's written consent before changing an entrance, and some changes to a shopfront or external door need planning permission. The survey notes anything that may need consent. We can supply drawings and product details to support an application, but the owner or tenant makes it.
Which building regulations apply to a new automatic entrance in Surrey?
In England the guidance is Approved Document M (Volume 2) for access, Approved Document B for fire safety and escape routes, and Approved Document K for glazing and powered doors. A new entrance can count as building work, so building control should be involved before it is ordered.
