Covering Ware and nearby
If your building is in Ware, or anywhere in the SG12 postcode district, we can arrange automatic internal doors. Visits are booked with you in advance, timed around opening hours where that matters, and carried out by engineers who work under our management.
Libraries, health centres and council buildings in Ware still need accessible entrances, whatever their size. A single automatic door with a push pad or touch-free switch is often enough to give everyone easy access.
Nearby towns we also list for automatic internal doors (straight-line distance): Hertford (2.4 miles), Hoddesdon (3.5 miles), Harlow (6.4 miles), Cheshunt (7.6 miles), Welwyn Garden City (7.6 miles), Waltham Abbey (8.6 miles).
What to think about for automatic internal doors in Ware
- Lightweight stud partitions may not carry an operator without extra support. The survey checks what the wall is made of and what reinforcement is needed.
- Check the fire rating of each door before the survey. Fire doors need operators made for them, and fixings and cables must not weaken the rating.
- Noise matters on wards and in bedrooms. Ask for night settings or quieter operators on doors near where people sleep, and check how loud any electric locks are when they release.
- Care homes in Ware often have residents with dementia. Think about which doors should open freely and which should be controlled, and agree that as a care decision before choosing controls.
- Schools and colleges in Ware often prefer corridor work in the holidays. Book the survey early in the term before, so doors and operators can be ordered and delivered in time.

Standards and rules in England
Building regulations guidance in England (Approved Document M, Volume 2) says a powered opening system should be used where a self-closing entrance door would need more than 30 N at the leading edge to open, or more than 22.5 N between 30° and 60°, and expects external doors used by the public in new buildings to give at least 1000 mm of effective clear width.
Whoever motorises a manual door, or builds an automatic door from separate parts, may take on the manufacturer’s legal duties for the finished door: a risk assessment, a technical file kept available for the authorities, a Declaration of Conformity, the conformity marking and instructions. You receive the Declaration of Conformity and the instructions at handover. In Great Britain a new or converted powered door must meet the Supply of Machinery (Safety) Regulations 2008 before it is first used, and can carry the UKCA or the CE marking.
How it works
- Send photos and the address. A few pictures of the door from both sides, the address in Ware and a note of who uses the entrance help us understand the job before anyone visits the site.
- No-cost survey on site. We arrange a survey at a time that suits the building. The engineer records measurements, fixings and power, plus any constraints such as listed status, opening hours or access for deliveries.
- Itemised quote to approve. We price every element of the work on automatic internal doors separately in a written quote that you can check, share and approve. Lead time and payment stages are stated, and nothing is ordered until you accept.
- Fit, test and hand over. On the agreed dates the engineer installs the equipment, commissions the operator and tests each safety function. You get a demonstration, the test record and any conformity paperwork that applies to the work.
Send us a list of the doors and how they are used, and we will plan automatic internal doors for your building in Ware.
Automatic internal doors in Ware: questions
Do you supply internal sliding doors as well as swing operators in Ware?
Yes. Where there is wall space beside the opening, a sliding door keeps the corridor clear and gives a wide opening, which suits wards. Where there is not, or the door is a fire door, a swing operator is usually the better fit. The survey compares both.
What is the guide price for automatic internal doors in Ware?
Our guide starts from £1,795 excluding VAT (per door), the same guide price we use across the UK. The free site survey in Ware confirms the price as a fixed, itemised written quote, and the guide price tool gives you a range before anyone visits.
Do you work in hospitals in Ware?
Yes. We work to the estates team's requirements for door widths, controls, infection control and fire alarm interfaces, and provide method statements, insurance details and the documents they ask for. Work on wards is usually planned out of hours or in phases.
How disruptive is the work in an occupied building in Ware?
Usually less than people expect. Most swing operators take half a day to a day per door, and sliding doors a little longer. We plan the order of work to keep routes open, control dust, and agree any out-of-hours working in the quote.
What should I send before the survey in Ware?
A few photos of the door from inside and outside, rough measurements of the opening, the address and a note of how the entrance is used. If the door already has an operator, a photo of any label on it helps. With that, the engineer arrives prepared, the survey takes less of your time and we can put the quote for automatic internal doors together more easily.
What happens once the installation in Ware is finished?
The engineer tests every function, including the safety sensors and the behaviour on power loss, and sets the door up with reference to BS EN 16005. You are shown how to use the controls and which simple checks to make, and you receive the handover documents, including the test record and any conformity paperwork that applies to the work.
Which building regulations apply to a new automatic entrance in Ware?
In England the guidance is Approved Document M (Volume 2) for access, Approved Document B for fire safety and escape routes, and Approved Document K for glazing and powered doors. A new entrance can count as building work, so building control should be involved before it is ordered.
