Covering Hounslow and nearby
Engineers working under our management travel to addresses across the TW3 and TW4 postcode districts for automatic door servicing. There is no depot or showroom in Hounslow; you arrange everything with us by phone, email or the form on this page, and we confirm the price in writing first.
Victorian and Georgian terraces are common across London, and converted buildings in Hounslow may have steps, narrow hallways or shared front doors. A home door opener or an operator on a communal door has to work within those limits, and the engineer checks what will fit.
Nearby towns we also list for automatic door servicing (straight-line distance): Twickenham (1.9 miles), Richmond (2.4 miles), Feltham (2.7 miles), Southall (2.8 miles), Ealing (3.9 miles), Greenford (4.2 miles).
What to think about for automatic door servicing in Hounslow
- A logbook kept near the door, or a shared digital folder, makes it simple to show service history in Hounslow when an insurer, landlord or inspector asks for it.
- Care homes and hospitals in Hounslow often need visits planned around mealtimes, medication rounds and visiting hours, so the door is not out of use at the busiest times.
- Schools and colleges in Hounslow often prefer servicing during holidays or after hours. Plan visits early in the year so they fall when the buildings are quiet.
- Battery backup units wear out over time. Testing them at each service shows whether the door will still open or close safely in a power cut.
- Floors matter. Uneven, worn or newly laid floor finishes can affect floor guides and sensor detection, so mention any recent floor work before the service.

No law sets a fixed service interval. We recommend a safety check by a trained engineer at least once a year, and more frequent visits for busy doors. Repairs found during a service are quoted before they are done.
Standards and rules in England
Workplace law (the Workplace (Health, Safety and Welfare) Regulations 1992) expects powered doors to have suitable and effective features to stop them trapping anyone and, where needed for safety, to open by hand unless they open automatically if the power fails. Doors at work must also be kept in efficient working order under a suitable system of maintenance. HSE guidance on those regulations says the frequency of maintenance depends on the equipment and the manufacturer’s information.
BS EN 16005 is the current standard for the safety in use of powered pedestrian doors, and BS 7036-0:2014 is the British code of practice for risk assessment and risk reduction used alongside it. Standards are not law in themselves, but they are the recognised benchmark for showing an automatic door is safe to use, and we set up, test and document doors with reference to them. Standards are not retrospective, so an older door does not become unlawful when a standard is updated; a site-specific risk assessment shows whether any upgrades are sensible.
How it works
- Share the details. Send the address in Hounslow, the door type and make if you know it, and a description or video of the problem. For servicing, tell us how many doors there are and how busy each one is.
- Price confirmed in writing. We agree the visit price in writing before an engineer attends. Some straightforward repairs can be priced in full from photos and the make and model of the door.
- Diagnosis and repair. A specialist engineer attends on the agreed date, finds the cause, repairs or services the door, and tests its operation, sensors and safety functions with reference to BS EN 16005.
- Written record. Each visit ends with a written record for your files. Anything still outstanding, such as parts on order or recommended upgrades, is quoted before any further work is done.

Automatic door servicing in Hounslow: questions
How often should doors in Hounslow be serviced?
There is no fixed legal interval. We recommend a trained engineer checks the safety functions at least once a year, with the interval set by the manufacturer's instructions and how heavily the door is used. Busy entrances, such as shops and surgeries, are often serviced every six months.
What is the guide price for automatic door servicing in Hounslow?
Our guide starts from £145 excluding VAT (per visit, first door), the same guide price we use across the UK. For homes that is from £174 including VAT. We agree the visit price in writing before an engineer attends in Hounslow, and quote any parts or further work before doing them. The price guide lists typical repair and service costs.
Do you service doors in Hounslow that another company installed?
Yes. We service most powered pedestrian doors, whoever fitted them. The first visit records each door's make, model, condition and any concerns, so later reports can be compared. If parts are no longer made for one of your doors, we let you know early so a replacement can be planned.
Can one contract cover all our buildings in Hounslow and nearby?
Yes. A contract can list every door across your sites, with the visits per year and the price for each door. One schedule and one set of service reports make it easier to keep records complete, and repair visits between services are charged at the contract rates.
Can you price a repair in Hounslow from photos?
Sometimes. Clear photos of the door, the operator cover and any label showing the make and model, plus a description of what the door is doing, can let us price a likely repair before a visit. Where the cause is not obvious, we agree a diagnostic visit price in writing first and quote the repair afterwards.
How soon can an engineer get to Hounslow?
We do not promise response times. When you book, we give you the earliest date we can offer and confirm it once the price is agreed. If the door is unsafe in the meantime, it is usually best to switch it off or set it to a safe mode, put up a sign and keep people clear of it.
Can a home in Hounslow get help paying for a door opener?
Possibly. In England a Disabled Facilities Grant of up to £30,000 can fund adaptations that make it easier to get in and out of a home. It is means-tested and must be approved by the council before work starts, so ask your council and occupational therapist.
