Automatic door repairs in Liverpool

Noisy, slow or opening by itself? Those are common automatic door faults in Liverpool, and most have a clear cause. Engineers test the sensors, running gear, drive and power supply, then explain what is wrong and what it will cost to put right.

Covering Liverpool and nearby

We cover the whole of the L1, L2, L3, L5, L6 and L7 postcode districts, along with nearby towns in Merseyside. You book each visit for automatic door repairs directly with us, and a specialist automatic door engineer working under our management travels to your site on the agreed date.

Access in a city centre needs planning. Loading bays, permit parking, pedestrianised streets and delivery windows all affect when an engineer can unload, so a visit to Liverpool is booked around them and any restrictions are noted in advance.

Nearby towns we also list for automatic door repairs (straight-line distance): Birkenhead (1.9 miles), Wallasey (3.7 miles), Litherland (4.2 miles), Bootle (4.2 miles), Bebington (4.5 miles), Crosby (5.2 miles).

What to think about for automatic door repairs in Liverpool

  • For surgeries, clinics and care settings in Liverpool, a door that will not open can stop wheelchair users getting in. Plan an alternative accessible entrance and clear signs while the repair is arranged.
  • Opening hours matter when booking a repair in Liverpool. If your premises close early or open late, mention it so the engineer can work while the entrance is quiet.
  • Wet and windy weather causes many false openings. Sensors over exposed entrances can react to rain and blowing leaves, and a small change to the detection zone often cures it.
  • Busy high street shops in Liverpool lose trade quickly when the entrance fails. Keep the programme switch key where staff can find it, so the door can be set to a safe mode while you wait.
  • Glass damage needs prompt action to keep people safe. Switch the door off, keep people back from the broken leaf and tape or board the glass if that can be done safely.

Standards and rules in England

Workplace law (the Workplace (Health, Safety and Welfare) Regulations 1992) expects powered doors to have suitable and effective features to stop them trapping anyone and, where needed for safety, to open by hand unless they open automatically if the power fails. Doors at work must also be kept in efficient working order under a suitable system of maintenance. HSE guidance on those regulations says the frequency of maintenance depends on the equipment and the manufacturer’s information.

No law sets a fixed service interval. We recommend that a trained engineer checks the safety functions at least once a year, with service intervals set by the manufacturer’s instructions and how heavily the door is used, and that someone on site carries out simple regular checks and keeps a record.

How it works

  1. Explain the problem. Whether the door is stuck, slow, noisy or due its next check, a short description and a few photos tell us which kind of visit to book for automatic door repairs and what to bring.
  2. Visit cost agreed. You get the visit price in writing before we book the engineer. There are no hidden extras: parts and further work are always quoted separately and in advance.
  3. Engineer on site. The engineer inspects the operator, sensors, tracks and leaves, carries out the repair or service, and runs the door through its safety tests before it goes back into use.
  4. Follow-up quoted. You are sent a record of the visit. If something else needs attention, we quote it in writing; for doors on a service plan, the next visit date is noted on the record.

Get your entrance working again. Describe the fault at your premises in Liverpool and we will tell you what the visit costs and when an engineer can attend.

Automatic door repairs in Liverpool: questions

Do you repair automatic doors in Liverpool?

Yes. We take the booking, agree the price and manage the job, and the visit in Liverpool is made by a specialist automatic door engineer working under our management. The engineers we send work on sliding, swing, folding and revolving doors from most makers, including doors we did not install. The visit price is confirmed with you in writing before the engineer is booked.

How are prices worked out for automatic door repairs in Liverpool?

Our guide starts from £95 excluding VAT (visit including the first hour), the same guide price we use across the UK. For homes that is from £114 including VAT. We agree the visit price in writing before an engineer attends in Liverpool, and quote any parts or further work before doing them. The price guide lists typical repair and service costs.

Can you tell me the cost before visiting my premises in Liverpool?

We always confirm the visit price before attending. For some faults, photos of the door and the operator label let us price the repair itself in advance. Where the cause needs testing on site, parts and extra work are quoted after diagnosis and only go ahead if you agree.

How soon can an engineer get to my door in Liverpool?

That depends on engineer availability around Liverpool when you contact us, so we do not promise a time. Tell us whether the door is stuck open, stuck shut or unsafe, and we will tell you the earliest visit we can offer. Meanwhile, set the door to a safe mode and keep people away from the leaves.

Do you offer service contracts in Liverpool?

Yes. A service contract sets out how many visits a year each door receives, what each visit includes and the price, all agreed in writing before you sign. Contracts suit sites with several doors or busy entrances, because visits are planned ahead and the records stay in one place. Contract length and notice terms are shown in the agreement.

Which makes of automatic door can you work on in Liverpool?

Engineers working under our management work on most makes of automatic door, including sliding, swing, folding, telescopic and revolving types. Some older or obsolete operators have limited parts availability. If that applies, we explain the options, which may include a replacement drive unit on the existing frame, and quote them before anything is ordered.

Can a home in Liverpool get help paying for a door opener?

Possibly. In England a Disabled Facilities Grant of up to £30,000 can fund adaptations that make it easier to get in and out of a home. It is means-tested and must be approved by the council before work starts, so ask your council and occupational therapist.
