Covering Rowley Regis and nearby
Engineers working under our management travel to addresses across the B65 postcode district for home automatic door openers. There is no depot or showroom in Rowley Regis; you arrange everything with us by phone, email or the form on this page, and we confirm the price in writing first.
Parking on a busy high street can be tight. When work is booked in Rowley Regis, the engineer's arrival is planned around loading restrictions, any market days and opening hours, so the visit causes as little disruption as possible.
Nearby towns we also list for home automatic door openers (straight-line distance): Oldbury (1.6 miles), Dudley (2.0 miles), Halesowen (2.4 miles), West Bromwich (3.2 miles), Brierley Hill (3.3 miles), Smethwick (3.3 miles).
What to think about for home automatic door openers in Rowley Regis
- Older timber front doors in Rowley Regis can be heavy or swell in wet weather. Easing or rehanging the door before the opener goes on makes it run better and last longer.
- Ask whether an occupational therapist assessment is needed. If you plan to apply for a grant through your council (or the Housing Executive in Northern Ireland), it usually is, and it helps choose the right doors and controls.
- Children and pets may need extra thought. Controls can be placed out of reach, and a safety sensor added where little ones often play near the door.
- Terraced houses and flats in Rowley Regis often have narrow hallways. The survey checks where the door swings, so it does not catch a wheelchair, a radiator or someone standing behind it.
- Bungalows and ground-floor flats in Rowley Regis often have a back or patio door onto the garden. Automating that door as well can make a big difference to everyday independence.
Home automatic door openers in Rowley Regis: guide prices
The site survey is free, including the measured drawing and a fixed, itemised written quote. Guide price: typically £1,495 to £2,995 inc VAT.
| Item | Guide price | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Door opener for one door, with wall button and remote fob | £1,495 – £2,995 | fitted, inc VAT |
| Opener plus electric lock or hands-free proximity tag | £2,495 – £3,995 | fitted, inc VAT |
| Openers on two doors, for example front door and one internal door | £2,795 – £5,495 | fitted, inc VAT |
| Battery backup for power cuts | £295 – £595 | fitted, inc VAT |
Prices include VAT at 20%. If you are eligible for VAT relief as a disabled person, the installation work may be zero-rated under HMRC rules; we will tell you on the quote if we think it applies and ask you to sign an eligibility declaration. Your council (or, in Northern Ireland, the Housing Executive) can sometimes help with the cost through a grant, but it must be approved before work starts.
Grants, VAT relief and safety in England
A door opener at home should still let the door be opened by hand and lock securely. We set the opening speed and force for the people living there and show everyone how it works.
Some work and equipment for disabled people can qualify for VAT relief where HM Revenue and Customs’ conditions are met; we will tell you on the quote if we think it may apply.
How it works
- Start with a short enquiry. Use the form, phone or email. Tell us whether the work is a new door, an upgrade or an opener for a home, and we arrange the next step for your site in Rowley Regis.
- Measured survey. The free survey confirms what will fit and what the entrance needs: opening width, door type, activation, safety sensors and behaviour on power loss or fire alarm, matched to how the building is used.
- Written price, no surprises. A fixed, itemised quote sets out the specification, the work involved, the expected lead time and the warranty terms. You can ask questions or change the specification before accepting it.
- Installed and commissioned. The door is installed with as little disruption as possible, then set up and tested for its hazard zones. Before leaving, the engineer explains the controls and hands over the documents for your records.
Give us a call or use the quote form, and we will arrange a home survey in Rowley Regis for an automatic door opener, with carers welcome to join.
Home automatic door openers in Rowley Regis: questions
Can I get a grant for a door opener in Rowley Regis?
Possibly. Councils and housing authorities in England can sometimes help pay for adaptations such as door openers, and they decide who qualifies. Help is means-tested, usually follows an occupational therapist's assessment and must be approved before work starts, so contact your council early and before ordering anything.
What price range should I expect for home automatic door openers in Rowley Regis?
Our guide is £1,495 to £2,995 including VAT (per door), the same guide prices we use across the UK. The free site survey in Rowley Regis confirms the price as a fixed, itemised written quote, and the guide price tool gives you a range before anyone visits.
Will the home survey in Rowley Regis cost anything?
No. The home survey is free and there is no obligation. We look at the door, lock, frame and power, talk to the person who will use the opener, and send a fixed written quote afterwards. As a home customer you also have cancellation rights, which are set out with the quote.
Can the opener in Rowley Regis be linked to our doorbell or intercom?
Often, yes. Many households link the opener to a video doorbell or intercom so the person indoors can see who is there and open the door from their chair or bed. We check what you already have at the survey and explain the options.
What does the written quote for home automatic door openers in Rowley Regis include?
The quote lists each item separately: the door or equipment, installation, electrical connections where we provide them, removal of anything being replaced, testing and handover. It is a fixed price for the work described, so it does not change unless the scope changes, and any change is agreed with you in writing first.
What happens to the old door when a new one is fitted in Rowley Regis?
If the work replaces an existing door, frame or operator, removal and disposal are listed in the quote. The old door comes out only when the new one is ready to go in, so the opening is not left empty for longer than necessary. Making good to the surrounding wall, floor or ceiling is included where the quote says so.
Can a home in Rowley Regis get help paying for a door opener?
Possibly. In England a Disabled Facilities Grant of up to £30,000 can fund adaptations that make it easier to get in and out of a home. It is means-tested and must be approved by the council before work starts, so ask your council and occupational therapist.
