Covering Warwick and nearby

If your building is in Warwick, or anywhere in the CV34 postcode district, we can arrange automatic swing doors. Visits are booked with you in advance, timed around opening hours where that matters, and carried out by engineers who work under our management.

Parking on a busy high street can be tight. When work is booked in Warwick, the engineer's arrival is planned around loading restrictions, any market days and opening hours, so the visit causes as little disruption as possible.

Nearby towns we also list for automatic swing doors (straight-line distance): Leamington Spa (2.7 miles), Kenilworth (4.6 miles), Stratford-upon-Avon (8.2 miles), Coventry (9.0 miles), Solihull (12.3 miles), Shirley (13.3 miles).

What to think about for automatic swing doors in Warwick

  • Double doors with rebated meeting edges need operators that open and close in sequence. The engineer sets this up so the leaves never clash or leave a gap when closed.
  • External swing doors facing the wind need stronger operators and careful set-up. On exposed sites across Warwickshire, consider whether a canopy or a sliding door would work better.
  • Hospital and care home corridors in Warwick need doors that open early enough for beds and trolleys. Radar sensors set to the right range, or a push pad placed before the door, keep traffic moving.
  • Fire doors need care. The operator must suit the door, keep its fire performance intact and close the door when the alarm sounds, so have the door's labels and records to hand for the survey.
  • Office buildings in Warwick with access control can have doors that open automatically in working hours and only for card holders after hours, using a timer and the existing reader.

Standards and rules in England

In Great Britain a new or converted powered door must meet the Supply of Machinery (Safety) Regulations 2008 before it is first used, and can carry the UKCA or the CE marking. Workplace law (the Workplace (Health, Safety and Welfare) Regulations 1992) expects powered doors to have suitable and effective features to stop them trapping anyone and, where needed for safety, to open by hand unless they open automatically if the power fails. Doors at work must also be kept in efficient working order under a suitable system of maintenance.

Building regulations guidance in England (Approved Document M, Volume 2) says a powered opening system should be used where a self-closing entrance door would need more than 30 N at the leading edge to open, or more than 22.5 N between 30° and 60°, and expects external doors used by the public in new buildings to give at least 1000 mm of effective clear width.

How it works

  1. Send photos and the address. A few pictures of the door from both sides, the address in Warwick and a note of who uses the entrance help us understand the job before anyone visits the site.
  2. No-cost survey on site. We arrange a survey at a time that suits the building. The engineer records measurements, fixings and power, plus any constraints such as listed status, opening hours or access for deliveries.
  3. Itemised quote to approve. We price every element of the work on automatic swing doors separately in a written quote that you can check, share and approve. Lead time and payment stages are stated, and nothing is ordered until you accept.
  4. Fit, test and hand over. On the agreed dates the engineer installs the equipment, commissions the operator and tests each safety function. You get a demonstration, the test record and any conformity paperwork that applies to the work.

Tell us how many doors you have in Warwick, and whether they are single or double, and we will arrange a free survey.

Automatic swing doors in Warwick: questions

Can our existing doors in Warwick be automated?

Usually, if the doors, hinges and frames are in good condition. The survey checks the door weight, the hinges, what the operator will fix to and what sits in the swing path. Where a door is too worn, we will say so and quote a new doorset with the operator fitted instead.

Can you give me a price for automatic swing doors in Warwick?

Our guide starts from £2,495 excluding VAT (per door), the same guide price we use across the UK. The free site survey in Warwick confirms the price as a fixed, itemised written quote, and the guide price tool gives you a range before anyone visits.

Will the swing operator in Warwick work with our fire alarm?

It can. Fire doors that are held open must close automatically when the fire alarm operates, and the operator can be linked to the alarm to do this. Other doors can be set to open on alarm where the fire strategy needs it. Your alarm engineer usually makes the panel connection.

How quickly can a swing operator be fitted in Warwick?

Operators for existing doors are typically 2 to 4 weeks from order. On site, a single door usually takes half a day to a day, and a pair about a day. We can plan work for evenings, weekends or holidays where the building is busy, with any extra cost shown in the quote.

Do I need permission from a landlord or the council before work in Warwick?

It depends on the building. Tenants usually need the landlord's written consent before changing an entrance, and some changes to a shopfront or external door need planning permission. The survey notes anything that may need consent. We can supply drawings and product details to support an application, but the owner or tenant makes it.

What happens to the old door when a new one is fitted in Warwick?

If the work replaces an existing door, frame or operator, removal and disposal are listed in the quote. The old door comes out only when the new one is ready to go in, so the opening is not left empty for longer than necessary. Making good to the surrounding wall, floor or ceiling is included where the quote says so.

Do businesses in Warwick have to fit automatic doors?

No law says every building must have automatic doors. Under the Equality Act 2010, service providers and employers must make reasonable adjustments for disabled people, and building regulations guidance in England calls for a powered door where an entrance door would otherwise be too heavy to open. An automatic door is often the simplest way to meet both.
