Covering Marlow and nearby
Homes, businesses and public buildings throughout the SL7 postcode district can arrange automatic door servicing with us. We are the contracting party and organise every visit; the engineer, who works under our management, travels in to Marlow for the job rather than working from premises in town.
Small offices, community centres and village halls around Marlow tend to have one main entrance, often used by visitors who need level access without steps. Automating the existing door, rather than replacing it, is frequently the most practical and affordable route.
Nearby towns we also list for automatic door servicing (straight-line distance): Maidenhead (4.0 miles), High Wycombe (4.3 miles), Slough (8.7 miles), Gerrards Cross (9.5 miles), Woodley (9.5 miles), Amersham (9.5 miles).
What to think about for automatic door servicing in Marlow
- Schools and colleges in Marlow often prefer servicing during holidays or after hours. Plan visits early in the year so they fall when the buildings are quiet.
- Doors on escape routes need their break-out or power-failure opening tested at every service. Tell us which doors serve escape routes so the engineer checks the right functions.
- Keep the programme switch key and any operator access keys on site. Engineers need them to change modes and test the door properly during the visit.
- Older doors in Marlow may need parts replaced more often as they age. A service history that tracks wear helps you budget for repairs or a new drive unit before a breakdown.
- Business parks and retail parks in Marlow may have doors owned by the landlord and doors leased with the unit. Check who is responsible for servicing each door before booking.

No law sets a fixed service interval. We recommend a safety check by a trained engineer at least once a year, and more frequent visits for busy doors. Repairs found during a service are quoted before they are done.
Standards and rules in England
BS EN 16005 is the current standard for the safety in use of powered pedestrian doors, and BS 7036-0:2014 is the British code of practice for risk assessment and risk reduction used alongside it. Standards are not law in themselves, but they are the recognised benchmark for showing an automatic door is safe to use, and we set up, test and document doors with reference to them. Standards are not retrospective, so an older door does not become unlawful when a standard is updated; a site-specific risk assessment shows whether any upgrades are sensible.
Workplace law (the Workplace (Health, Safety and Welfare) Regulations 1992) expects powered doors to have suitable and effective features to stop them trapping anyone and, where needed for safety, to open by hand unless they open automatically if the power fails. Doors at work must also be kept in efficient working order under a suitable system of maintenance. HSE guidance on those regulations says the frequency of maintenance depends on the equipment and the manufacturer’s information.
How it works
- Tell us what is happening. Describe the fault, or the service or inspection that is due, and send photos of the door and any label on the operator. Include the address in Marlow and how much the site depends on the door.
- Visit price agreed in writing. We confirm the price of the visit in writing before an engineer attends. If the door can be priced from photos and its make and model, we say so at this stage.
- Engineer visit. A specialist engineer working under our management diagnoses the fault or carries out the service, then tests the operation of the door and its safety sensors before leaving the site.
- Findings and follow-up. You receive a written record of what was found and done. Any parts or further work needed are quoted in writing before they go ahead, and nothing is added without your agreement.

Automatic door servicing in Marlow: questions
Do you service revolving and folding doors in Marlow?
Yes, as well as sliding and swing doors. Revolving and folding doors have more moving parts and extra safety devices, so their services take longer and are priced accordingly. The checklist used for each door type is set out in its service report.
How are prices worked out for automatic door servicing in Marlow?
Our guide starts from £145 excluding VAT (per visit, first door), the same guide price we use across the UK. For homes that is from £174 including VAT. We agree the visit price in writing before an engineer attends in Marlow, and quote any parts or further work before doing them. The price guide lists typical repair and service costs.
What happens if the service in Marlow finds a fault?
The engineer explains what they found and deals with small issues as part of the visit. Worn parts or longer repairs are quoted to you first and only carried out once you agree. The service report records the fault so it can be tracked at later visits.
Do you service automatic doors in Marlow?
Yes. Planned service visits in Marlow are carried out by automatic door specialists who work under our management, with us as your contracting party. They service sliding, swing, folding and revolving doors from most makers. The cost of each visit is confirmed in writing before it is booked, and you receive a service report afterwards.
Do you offer service contracts in Marlow?
Yes. A service contract sets out how many visits a year each door receives, what each visit includes and the price, all agreed in writing before you sign. Contracts suit sites with several doors or busy entrances, because visits are planned ahead and the records stay in one place. Contract length and notice terms are shown in the agreement.
Do you leave a written record after each visit in Marlow?
Yes. Every visit ends with a written record of what was checked, what was done and anything that still needs attention. For safety inspections you receive a report of the findings and a site-specific risk assessment. Keeping these on file is the usual way to show that a workplace door is maintained and in good working order.
Who is responsible for automatic doors on escape routes in Marlow?
Under the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 the responsible person for the premises must make sure escape routes work and fire safety equipment is maintained. Automatic doors on an escape route need fail-safe opening or break-out, set by the fire strategy.
